I am an “alien of extraordinary ability”… at least according to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. In technical terms, this refers to my US visa which is shortened “EB1A” and was recently approved.

The EB1A visa is one of the most difficult to obtain, as it should. One of its benefits is that it paves the way for permanent residence and US citizenship.

The approval criteria includes demonstrating “extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics through sustained national or international acclaim” and that my achievements have been recognized in my field of expertise: internationally recognized awards for excellence, original business-related contributions of major significance to the field, authorship of scholarly articles in professional or major trade publications, and high performance in a leading or critical role in a distinguished organization.

Nothing of what I have done would have been possible without the support of many, including Capgemini leaders, colleagues, clients, and partners, over the ~25 years in which I have had the privilege of growing in such a great company. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of my closest friends and – of course – my wife and family.

This post is to say thank you: In the tremendous excitement in view of all opportunities in this amazing country, state, and region… I am humbled to be given the opportunity to continue exploring the unchartered, learning new things every step of the way.

Thank you.
